Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been snapped at a gym running on a treadmill watching his own goals on television while he trains.

The pictures of Argentine superstar Messi, 32, were taken at a gym in his native city Rosario located in the province of Santa Fe in northeastern Argentina.

The pictures show the forward running on a treadmill as he watches television which was seemingly showing some of his goals at the time.

A woman reported as Valentina snapped the pictures after walking into the gym and posted them on her social media which she captioned: “I went to the gym and saw Messi watching goals by Messi.”

Several netizens took to social media praising the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.

‘_MauroHM’ said: “Did you really run into Messi? I would have had a heart attack.”

‘Pablojesus111’ commented: “Messi has a right to enjoy watching Messi too.”

‘nicolarocca_’ wrote: “How is it possible you did not hug him? I would have fainted if I found him in a gym.”

‘ouhlord’ said: “Messi is thinking ‘God! That man is good!’”

Messi will reportedly be on holiday until Thursday 2nd January – four days more than the majority of the Barcelona squad. Manager Ernesto Valverde has given the South American players some extra time for travel.
