This is the moment Lionel Messi plays football with his two eldest sons as their huge pet dog chases after the ball.

In the video, Messi can be seen in the garden with his sons Thiago, 6, and Mateo, 3, while their appropriately-named dog Hulk, a massive Dogue de Bordeaux, plays with them.

The Barcelona star asks for the ball from Mateo, dressed in a Barcelona kit with his dad’s number on the back, and the youngster kicks the ball to him, avoiding Hulk.

The three-year-old shouts “great” before Messi kicks the ball to Thiago, who kicks into the oncoming dog.

The ball rebounds back to the youngster and he then kicks it over Hulk whilst flinching from the jumping dog.

Mateo can be heard laughing as his dad wins the ball back and passes it to him.

The trio continue playing amongst themselves, making Hulk chase after the ball and at one point Mateo shouts “good job Dad!”.

At the end of the video, Hulk appears to have the last laugh as Mateo slices the ball away.

Messi is currently enjoying a break after Argentina’s disappointment in the Copa America.

There is no fixed date for his return but he is expected to play against Arsenal in the Joan Gamper Cup on August 4th in Barcelona’s home stadium, Camp Nou before travelling to the United States to play two friendlies against Napoli on the 7th and 10th of August.
