This mesmerising time-lapse video shows thick clouds sweeping across the horizon at a picturesque lookout point in Washington State.

The hypnotic scene was filmed at Samish Overlook, looking out to the San Juan Islands, in the US state of Washington.

Twitter user ‘Amie Wheeler’ shared the clip on 26th January with the message: “Looking out towards The San Juan Islands from the top of the Samish Overlook this morning.”

According to local reports, fog and low clouds formed over Seattle on the morning of 26th January before eventually clearing later that afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued air stagnation warnings across parts of Washington State caused by “worsening or poor air quality” that is expected to continue until at least Friday morning.
