Match Cancelled As Brutal Brawl Breaks Out In Stadium

This is the moment a stadium brawl breaks out as a fan is brutally beaten by rival supporters as he lies motionless on the ground and is dragged up the terraces receiving kicks, punches and hits with a stick.

The shocking incident occurred during a top-flight match in the Mexican Liga MX between Atletico San Luis and Gallos Blancos Queretaro in San Luis Potosi located in the state San Luis Potosi in central Mexico, when a brawl broke out in the top tier of the Alfonso Lastras Ramirez Stadium on Sunday 20th October leading to the suspension of the match.

Local media report the brawl broke out in the 83rd minute of the match as supporters of the rival teams started fighting and throwing several objects at each other.

It is unclear what instigated the fight.

To avoid injury, several fans from both sides reportedly invaded the pitch as the brawl continued in the stands.

The videos show the moment several fans attack one rival supporter repeatedly beating him on the head and his body with punches and kicks and in some cases using sticks.

Another video shows the moment a shirtless victim is carried off the pitch with a bloodied face.

The final video shows as masses of supporters attack each other in the stands throwing large objects at each other. It is unclear which supporters are the aggressors in the videos.

A young boy can also be seen crying in one of the images after he was forced to run onto the pitch out of fear of being attacked in the stands as a woman, reportedly the child’s mother, tries to console him.

The match was suspended after the players were told to return to the changing room shortly after the violence broke out and the pitch was invaded by fleeing fans.

Local side Atletico San Luis released a statement condemning the incidents and assures: “Our institution is committed to collaborating in any way to help authorities carry out the necessary investigations, clear up any details and punish the assailants according to the full extent of the law and according to the rules established by the authorities and the relevant entities.”

Local media report there have been injuries however the number of victims or the gravity of their injuries is unclear. It is unclear if the remaining minutes of the match will be played.
