Diego Maradona’s daughter has reportedly “saved his life” after “liquid was coming out of his nose” and he could have “choked on his own vomit” at a party.

The claims were reported by Argentine television programme “Intrusos En El Espectaculo” after the programme’s host Jorge Rial claimed he “was told by a source”.

According to Rial, the incident took place at the Argentine legend’s 59th birthday on 30th October when Maradona’s daughter Giannina Maradona “found him in a bad state” as he was “lying back” on a chair while “everyone around him was dancing”.

Rial claims Maradona “vomited” face-up “and nobody reacted” shortly after “liquid came out of his nose” which led Giannina to confront Digno Valiente, reportedly one of Maradona’s caretakers and stepfather to his ex-girlfriend Rocio Oliva.

Rial claims Valiente responded to Giannina’s concerns by saying “relax, don’t worry, this is normal. It happens to him all the time” which instigated a “big argument that included insults” between the two and eventually also included one of her half-sisters and Valiente’s step-daughter, Oliva.

Oliva and Valiente reportedly criticised Giannina, saying: “We take care of him every day. If you know so much, then you come.”

Giannina is said to have moved her father “with great physical effort” to a bed and “accommodated him so that he would not choke in his own vomit”, one of the panellists added, “she saved his life” as vomiting while face-up is a serious choking hazard.

However, there are contradicting reports which state Maradona was not lying down but sitting up and his vomit was caused after eating “a large piece of meat and drinking beer” which upset his stomach due to gastric-bypass surgery he had in the past.

The incident is what reportedly led to Giannina’s recent post where she expressed concern for her father’s health writing: “He is not dying because his body has decided so, he is getting killed from the inside and does not realise it.

“I do not believe in the parameters of normal, but that is far from the reality of what he deserves. Pray for him. Please! Thank you!”

The post prompted Maradona to answer in a video where he said “when you reach a certain age, people care more about what you leave behind than what you are doing” assuring “everyone, I am not leaving anything behind.

“I am donating it all” after saying: “I am not dying in the least and I sleep soundly because I am working. I do not know what Giannina meant”.
