Man Uses Rope To Save Dog Trapped On Small Ledge Above Stream

This is the moment a resourceful Turkish man uses a rope to save a terrified dog trapped on a small ledge above a fast-moving stream.

According to the news site DHA, the dog was trapped at Yaglidere stream in the town of Uctepe in the district of Yaglidere in the north-eastern Turkish province of Giresun.

The video was recorded and uploaded to social media by Uctepe mayor Gasim Akilli on Sunday, 3rd October.

In the clip, the dog is seen nervously pacing back and forth on the small ledge.

An unnamed man notices the dog and begins to tie a rope to the railings just above the ledge.

The dog notices that help is on the way and starts to impatiently wag its tail while trying to catch the rope that is swinging back and forth just out of its reach.

After securing the rope, the man lowers himself onto the ledge to which the dog reacts by rubbing against the man in excitement, making his job of trying to tie the rope around the animal that much harder.

He secures the dog with the rope and climbs back up to the pavement.

With a few heaves on the rope, the dog is lifted to safety and the man quickly removes the rope.

The dog is visibly excited about being saved from the small ledge and keeps close to the man who puts his jacket back on and celebrates the successful rescue.

The unnamed hero waves at Gasim who responds by shouting “thank you”.

It is unclear how the dog became stranded on the ledge and where it went afterwards.
