This is the moment a young man is accidentally shot in the chest by a pal trying to scare off a gang of men beating him up in the middle of the street.

The incident was filmed outside a nightclub in Villa Sarmiento in the municipality of Moron located in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires, and the footage was later widely circulated on social media.

The police investigation started when 20-year-old Ezequiel Moya’s dead body was dumped in front of an ambulance on its way to hospital by friends in a grey Peugeot 308, according to local media.

Using CCTV footage, the police managed to piece together what occurred in the moments leading up Moya being thrown from the Peugeot.

In the video, Moya is seen being beaten in the middle of the street outside a nightclub called Poker Disco by several men.

A car appears and the gang suddenly leave the victim alone, who is seen lying motionless on the ground.

He is then helped by several men into the back seat of a parked car.

According to reports, Moya was shot in the chest by a friend who was trying to scare off the gang of attackers.

His friends then drove him to hospital where they reportedly dumped his body in front of an ambulance on the way.

Local media said the 20-year-old victim had already died of his injuries by that time.

The police have identified the shooter as Moya’s friend Lautaro Rodrigo Otero Blanco, 18, who is currently under arrest as the investigation continues.
