The video was reportedly recorded by a local resident at the Juana Manzo and Florencio Sanchez streets.

According to local media, a storm hit the city yesterday at 9 am with the National Meteorological Service (SMN) extending the alert for heavy rains and electric storms and wind all day long.

The Atlantic Energy Distributor Company (EDEA) reported that there were power cuts in five neighbourhoods in the city.

According to local people, no people have been evacuated or injured although they recommend not driving unless it is absolutely necessary.

Mar del Plata is a popular resort city on Argentina’s Atlantic coast.
