Man Suspected Of Killing Wife Found Hanged At A School

A missing man suspected of killing his wife has been found hanged at an abandoned school.

His wife, Natalia Coronel, 36, was badly injured when she called for medics after suffering a violent attack at home on 20th April.

When the ambulance arrived, she was lying on the ground in the courtyard of the property. She died while she was on route to the Ramos Massa Hospital in La Madrid located in the northern Argentine province of Tucuman.

The victim suffered “at least four blows to the head leading to her death” according to her autopsy report.

Neighbours “didn’t hear screams or anything” at the time of her death, according to the authorities.

Local media said that her husband, and prime suspect in the femicide case, Juan Carlos Salvatierra, 32, ran to a hospital to ask for assistance before suddenly disappearing.

He reportedly left the couple’s four-year-old child at a relative’s home beforehand, despite initial claims that he kidnapped him.

The authorities were looking for him for 24 hours when the body of a 32-year-old man was found hanged in an abandoned school close to where Coronel’s alleged murder took place.

Local deputy Eduardo Correa told local media: “Everything seems to indicate suicide, however we are still waiting the autopsy results.”

Police commissioner Hector Soria said: “It’s a really sad incident in the middle of a difficult time of confinement to avoid the spread of dengue and coronavirus.

“The death of the young woman, who was a good person, is a product of violence. It goes against everything we are trying to do for the better of others.

The exact circumstances surrounding Coronel’s death still remain unclear. Her alleged murder marks the 90th femicide case of the year, according to local reports.
