This is the moment a warehouse worker walks straight into a reversing lorry that knocks him down before it runs him over and he survived despite it crushing his bones.

The victim surnamed Chiu, a delivery driver, had been preparing to unload cargo from his own lorry when he walked straight into the back of the reversing flatbed lorry.

Footage from the warehouse in Mailiao Township in West Taiwan’s Yunlin County shows Chiu, 69, looking away for a split second when the lorry trailer hits him in the head, knocking him to the ground and causing him to lose his helmet.

He quickly finds himself under the moving lorry and tries to dodge the wheels, but he ends up rolling into the path of two sets of giant wheels which run right over his body.

Chiu can be seen rolling to his left and lying injured on his side as the lorry, which was driven by his colleague, finally stops.

Chiu was rushed to Yunlin Chang Gung Memorial Hospital where doctors diagnosed him with a shattered pelvis.

He also suffered bruising on his arms and legs but is now incredibly in stable condition.

Chiu recalled: “I turned my head for a second and was run over just like that.”

“It happened too fast,” he added.

His family members have transferred him to Changhua Christian Hospital in neighbouring Changhua County for further treatment.

Chang Shih-chung, head of the labour department at the Yunlin County Government, said they were still investigating the incident.
