Man Stuck In Ottoman Cannon On Public Square After Climbing In To Pose For Snaps

This is the moment firefighters rescue a Turkish who got stuck in an Ottoman-period cannon while posing for a photo.

The man, identified by his initials T.K., got inside the old cannon, on display on Barbaros Square in the district of Besiktas in the Turkish province of Istanbul, to pose for snaps.

However, the man became stuck in the Ottoman-period cannon and even companions and passersby were unable to get him out, according to local reports on 21st September.

The emergency services were sent to the scene and firefighters set about rescuing the trapped man.

The footage shows the man with his arms and head outside the cannon as firefighters shine lights and attempt to move him out.

According to the news site DHA, the Besiktas fire brigade team rescued the man by using oil on the sides of the heavy piece of artillery.

After being freed from the cannon, the man was said to be in a good state of health and it remains unclear if he suffered any injuries in the incident.
