This 44-year-old man has been arrested for stripping naked at an international airport before allegedly masturbating and threatening to kill an airport official.

Frank Towers, 44, from the US city of Minneapolis, has been charged with threatening violence and fourth-degree assault after the incident at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on the morning of 12th November.

Airports cops in the Skyway checkpoint area were alerted to a disturbance and encountered Towers threatening to kill a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) official, according to the Star Tribune.

He then allegedly swung a retractable-belt post at the worker before throwing it at a crowd of officials at the scene.

After cops told the suspect to move away, he said that he “did not have to stop”, adding: “It’s a free country.”

The police repeatedly called for the suspect to back down before deploying a Taser when he advanced on the officers, according to the Star Tribune.

The criminal complaint states that he swung his arms and attempted to strike a cop.

The man was forcefully placed under arrest until backup arrived on the scene and he was then taken away to be placed in custody.

During a review of the airport’s CCTV cameras, the police reportedly saw the suspect punching and head-butting screens at 3.10am.

According to the complaint, he was also observed stripping naked and masturbating before removing his clothes again an hour later.

He then reportedly got dressed and threw a chair before confronting the TSA workers and cops.

As well as the new charges, the police said Towers also has three pending assault cases under investigation in Olmsted County.

He is set to appear in court on his latest charges on the afternoon of 22nd November.
