This is the moment mourners gather around a corpse in a coffin after suddenly spotting him moving and then sending him to the hospital, which confirmed he was still alive.

The incident was filmed in the city of Hermel in the northern Lebanese governorate of Baalbek-Hermel earlier this week.

In the footage, a group of mourners is seen gathered around the open coffin as several people perform chest compressions (CPR) on the corpse after claiming to have seen the man return to life and move briefly.

According to local media, the mourners provided the CPR for a while until an ambulance could come to take the man to a medical centre to be checked.

The news site Alwan said the body was taken to the medical centre by ambulance where the man was confirmed to still be alive.

There have been no further updates on the incident on how he was wrongly registered as deceased.

The alleged resurrection followed hot on the heels of another funeral that was disrupted by a ‘moving corpse’ in Egypt.

Mourners at the funeral in the Egyptian city of Idku claimed the dead man moved and started breathing inside the coffin.

According to reports, the funeral was disrupted by the alleged resurrection and loved ones decided to take the dead body to a nearby clinic to have it checked.

However, on this occasion, a doctor could only confirm that the man was indeed dead and advised relatives to bury the body as soon as possible.

The mourners took the body back to the cemetery and continued with the funeral.
