This is the moment a man lifts a dog fighting with his own pooch into the air and slams it onto the pavement killing it in front of its child owner.

The incident took place in the city of Huancayo, in the central Peruvian region of Junin and was captured by the CCTV cameras.

In the video, a young boy, who has not been identified in reports, can be seen walking down the street with his dog when he comes across another dog being walked by a man identified as Wilson Pastrana Aliaga, 21.

The two dogs appear to be sniffing each other when they suddenly start fighting. The elder dog owner then marches over and lifts the boy’s pooch into the air before forcefully slamming it down onto the pavement and walking away.

The young boy watches on as his dog is left motionless on the ground and onlookers try to help but reports state the dog died at the scene.

Local media report Aliaga was cornered in a shop by outraged residents who were threatening to beat him until the police showed up.

Reports state a shop worker told the dog owner: “You beat the dog to death, you threw it to the ground, b*stard. You are going to go to prison, you are a murderer.”

Pastrana Aliaga was arrested and sent to the police station of Huancayo. Reports state he could face five years in prison for animal abuse.

It is unclear if he has been charged.
