This is the moment a man is sent flying into a friend by an oncoming motorbike as he crosses the road to greet him.

The incident was filmed in the district of Umraniye in the Turkish city of Istanbul on 22nd June.

According to local media, the pedestrian, named as Mert, was crossing the road to talk to a pal without checking the traffic.

As he made his way over to his friend, Mert was hit by an oncoming biker and sent flying through the air, slamming into his pal on the other side of the road.

In the footage, Mert is seen crossing the busy road while waving to his pal on the other side.

He crosses the central reservation and starts to run over to his friend, but apparently fails to see the oncoming motorbike.

The motorcycle slams into Mert, sending him flying into his pal who apparently tries to catch him.

The unbalanced friend spins out of view from the impact as the other two men apparently fall on the tarmac further along the road.

After the incident, witnesses reportedly rushed over to help the injured men and medical teams were sent to the scene.

Mert and the biker, name not disclosed, were taken to hospital for treatment. The other pedestrian was unharmed in the incident, according to reports.

It is unclear if the local authorities are investigating the matter.
