This is the moment a man screams in pain as a pit bull clamps onto his leg and refuses to let go.

The dog attack took place in the neighbourhood of Haznedar, in the district of Gungoren, in the Turkish province of Istanbul, on the evening of 23rd March.

The owner was walking his pet dog along the street when the animal, which was not wearing a muzzle, attacked the young man and refused to let go of his leg.

Local media said the incident lasted several minutes.

In the video, filmed by a local resident, the victim is heard screaming in pain as the dog apparently latches onto his leg and refuses to let go, despite the best efforts of its owner.

The owner shouts at the dog to let go and it eventually releases the man, who drags himself away on the ground.

Local resident Selda Dikce said: “We were home at the time of the incident. We suddenly heard screams and shouts. A pit bull without a muzzle attacked the man. It bit his leg. The man was screaming out loud.”

She added: “The owner of the dog tried to pull it away. He was trying to open its mouth so it would let go of the man’s leg. And then they left as if nothing had happened!”

It is unclear if the incident was reported to the police.
