Local media report his partner Romina Polonio screamed for help from her sister when she found the couple’s two Rottweilers, a two-year-old male and a nine-year-old female, attacking her partner.

The two dogs were reportedly biting Sartori on his head and right arm, leaving him unconscious.

An ambulance was called and paramedics tried to resuscitate the 49-year-old but could not do so and he was declared dead at the scene.

The two Rottweilers were reportedly caught by a dog catcher and sent to kennels. Local police reportedly questioned Polonio, who was the victim’s partner of 20 years, as well as local residents.

An autopsy is being carried out to determine if the attack from the dogs was the cause of death or if Sartori had died from natural causes before they started biting him.

No arrests have been reported.
