This is the moment a man whizzes along a busy road on an electric scooter at speeds of 25mph with a young child standing at the front.

The incident was filmed in an unspecified location in Russia by a stunned motorist who later shared the footage on social media.

In the footage, an e-scooter is seen speeding along the side of the road in low visibility conditions.

A man wearing a helmet steers the scooter as a young boy stands at the front.

The youngster does not appear to be wearing a helmet, although it is unclear from these images.

The cameraperson then pans to his car’s speedometer which shows 40 kph (25 mph).

According to local media, the video was reported to the local police who are investigating the man for driving an electric scooter on a main road, driving a scooter at speed and posing a risk to other road users, and riding with a child on the vehicle.

Netizen ‘Irina Valikova’ said: “They need to fine people like this more.”

‘Tim Pyat’ commented: “A friend of mine rode a scooter slow once, but still got into an accident and injured his leg. These scooters can go fast, but it’s hard to manoeuvre them.”
