This is the moment a tourist in Bodrum is punched in the head by another man for dropping his swimming shorts at a beach shower after he reportedly flashed tourists on a boat trip.

The startling scene was recorded by an onlooker in the resort town of Bodrum in Mugla province in south-western Turkey after the tourist, reportedly drunk and identified in reports as E.A.P., stepped out of the waters at a beach at the Karaincir Bay.

Local media report E.A.P. had stepped out of the sea wearing swimming shorts but then pulled his shorts down as he was taking a shower in front of other beachgoers.

In the video, a burly onlooker can be seen punching down the nude tourist in the shower, sending one blow into the back of his head before kneeing him in the back when he drops to the ground.

The attack is carried out in front of a police officer who steps in to stop the beating continuing.

Local media report beachgoers had complained about E.A.P. causing problems on a boat tour earlier in the day, claiming he had also pulled his shorts down on the tour.

Reports state E.A.P. was detained and referred to public prosecutors. He was reportedly released after giving a statement to prosecutors. It is unclear if either he or the man who punched him were charged.
