A man has been arrested for throwing this adorable one-eyed puppy in a bin but luckily it was found after its whines were heard by a good Samaritan.

The poor pooch was found by chance by a passerby in Guingamp in the department of Cotes-d’Armor in the north-western French region of Brittany.

Local media said the male passerby heard the puppy’s yelps from a bin.

The photo shows the poor puppy, reportedly just a few weeks old, with a head injury and a punctured right eye.

According to local media, the suspect who threw the injured puppy in the wheelie bin has been identified by the police and an investigation is underway.

However, the police said that the punctured eye and head injury were caused by another dog.

According to reports, the owner had recently adopted the puppy from a neighbour’s litter, but failed to take proper care of it and then decided to throw it away “due to a lack of availability”.

The police in Cotes-d’Armor said the man will be prosecuted in court to “answer for his shortcomings”.

Meanwhile, local media said a foster family has agreed to look after the puppy and it is currently doing well.
