This viral video seen over 6 million times shows a schoolboy accidentally hitting a woman with his football before her male partner sprints up to the lad and wallops him with a kung-fu kick.
The incident happened in the city of Huai’an in East China’s Jiangsu Province on 1st September.
Video from the Anwen Jincheng Residential Area shows the boy, 11, playing with his friends when he boots the football and accidentally sends it flying into the left shoulder of the woman riding pillion on her partner’s electric moped.
As she grabs her arm and sits on the ground in pain, her partner sprints towards the child and sends him flying out of frame with a hard kick to his chest.
According to reports, the boy flew over 10 feet, while the suspect surnamed Ni, 23, rode off with the woman.
The child’s mother, Ms Wang, told local media that her son was not seriously injured, but he stayed at home recovering from bruises.
She said: “He was playing football and accidentally hit the woman on the shoulder.
“The man parked his moped, ran up to him and gave him a flying kick.
“My son came back and said: ‘Mum, someone kicked me. He sent me flying. It hurts.’
“His actions were far too extreme. The ball wasn’t even fully pumped up.
“When he has children, he’ll understand. Put yourself in my shoes – how would you feel if it were your son? I cried as soon as I saw the security footage. I didn’t watch it a second time.
“This is unacceptable.”
Huai’an police said Ni turned himself in the following day.
He has since apologised to the boy’s family and has been detained for 12 days.
It is unclear whether he faces further punishment.
