A man has been arrested for killing his girlfriend and then paying his two brothers to bury the decapitated body in a shallow grave.
Veli Under is accused of killing his 30-year-old partner, and mother of his two children in the district of Muratpasa in the southern Turkish province of Antalya on 6th September.
The victim, identified as Duygu Celikten, suddenly disappeared without trace and her concerned family reported her as missing.
The victim’s loved ones even appeared on the Muge Anli TV Show to ask for help to find the missing woman.
The local police eventually found the victim’s decapitated body in a shallow grave in a forest in the district of Kepez on 20th September.
Her remains were also found to have knife wounds in the chest and back.
The police launched an investigation into the victim’s partner and he was arrested in a forest hut in the province of Mugla on the evening of 29th September while hiding out.
During questioning, Under reportedly said: “I have a house, but we started arguing when she said she wanted to transfer the deeds to herself. She started insulting me and I could not control my anger. I killed her.”
The police later determined that Under used his two brothers to help him bury the victim’s body.
The brothers, only identified by their initials S.O. and D.O. were arrested at their home in Muratpasa yesterday.
The brothers were allegedly paid TRY 10,000 (GBP 972) to assist the alleged killer.
The investigation continues.
