This is the viral moment a half-naked man wearing only underpants and a pair of socks desperately hangs on while dangling from a window ledge before finally losing his grip and falling to the ground.

The footage was reportedly shot in Wallisellen in Switzerland and has been widely shared in the country’s media where they reported the man had been attempting to escape police, and that it was not a case of somebody trying to flee a lover’s apartment quickly.

The man fell several metres to the ground after finally being unable to hold onto the ledge, and failing to find a grip below with his feet. Although he tried, he had no chance of pulling himself back up before finally losing his grip.

As he fell he struck the windowsill below, before then crashing onto the roof of a car parked below.

After banging his chin he then rolls onto the ground as the video ends. A woman speaking German with a Swiss accident can be heard saying “Oh my God” and “How…” before the video ends.

Local media did not reveal whether the man was injured, and the man responsible for managing the property where the incident reportedly happened, Daniel Ulmer, said: “The man apparently escaped from the police.”

For their part the police have confirmed that there was an incident at the property but said it was from last year, with the video only being made public now.

Residents who apparently had some idea what it was about refused to discuss the incident, leaving a mystery as to what the police wanted with the man when he tried to make his daring escape.
