This is the moment a cyclist who ends up in a lorry’s blind spot jumps off his bike in the nick of time and watches helplessly as the vehicle crushes it while turning.

The traffic camera footage from Longgang District in Shenzhen, a city in South China’s Guangdong Province, was taken on 16th June.

In the video, the cyclist is riding on the right-hand side of the articulated lorry and its lengthy trailer when the heavy goods vehicle begins making a right turn.

He finds himself in danger of being run over by the lorry and quickly jumps off his bike before moving to one side.

But he cannot stop his bicycle from being run over and crushed by the lorry’s trailer. It is swept away in the undercarriage and disappears together with the heavy goods vehicle.

The clueless lorry driver appears oblivious to the accident and simply drives away as the hapless cyclist is left standing and staring into the distance at his lost bike.

The cyclist is not believed to have been injured, but it is unclear whether the lorry driver has offered to compensate him for his bike.

Traffic police in Longgang District have yet to comment on the accident.
