MAN EATER: Croc That Attacked Dad And Ate Toddler In Boat Is Caught And Killed

A killer crocodile that snatched a one-year-old child off a boat and ate him has been caught and killed by locals.

The attack also left the child’s father with bite marks as he tried to rescue the toddler.

The incident reportedly happened on a river in Lahad Datu which is the capital of the Lahad Datu District in Malaysia’s Tawau Division of Sabah on the morning of 1st December.

It is a coastal port town and the two were rowing the boat in the waters of the Lahad Datu Marine base when they were attacked by the huge crocodile.

The devastated dad said that the crocodile had lept across before grabbing the child. The man tried to rescue the child and had been bitten in return, while the crocodile then disappeared underwater with the trapped youngster in its jaws.

It was later photographed with the boy in its jaws before eating him. Police said when it was killed it still had the boy’s blood on its teeth.

Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue station chief Sumsoa Rashid said: “Despite the man’s best efforts he ended up with numerous bite wounds and could not stop his son being dragged underwater.”

“There are several viral videos showing how the victim (his child) was attacked by the crocodile and then grabbed before being dragged to a nearby river.”

The search and rescue squad rooms were on the scene and gave the dad first aid treatment but were also unable to locate the child.

The man and the boy were not named and it was not revealed how old the son was.

The father is currently being treated at the nearby Lahad Datu Hospital.

Six firefighters are reportedly continuing to search for the child assisted by police, marine police, and the Health Ministry.
