This is the moment a bus passenger takes off his coat in order to confront another passenger and is then repeatedly stabbed before collapsing in a pool of blood.

The shocking incident which was filmed by another passenger took place on a bus in the Russian urban settlement of Komunarka, which is in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug in Moscow.

The passenger that was filming had grabbed their mobile phone when the war of words between the two men escalated.

The verbal altercation which was taking place then turned violent when the man in the blue coat moved to confront the man in the black coat, and was shoved backwards. The blue-coated man then responds by taking off his coat and inviting the other man to fight, unaware that his rival has a blade.

He seems not to realise that he is being repeatedly stabbed as he grapples with his opponent, but then staggers to one side in a weakened state with his shirt covered in blood. A short while later he reportedly collapsed in a pool of blood on the floor.

The knifeman and his friend quickly left the bus after that, and police confirmed they are looking for the pair.

A spokesman for the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow confirmed they were looking for the attacker who faces attempted murder charges or murder if the victim dies.

He is currently hospitalised with 13 stab wounds and doctors described his condition as critical.
