Reported Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur target Ricard Puig has hinted he could leave Barcelona if he does not receive more minutes with the Spanish champions.

Spanish midfielder Ricard Puig, 20, made the comments in an interview with local media after the match between Barcelona B and Andorra played on Sunday 3rd November in Barcelona.

Puig gained some attention when asked about his exit from the club saying: “Well I am not closing the door but it is true I would like to have more minutes up front, there are a lot of people and it is difficult to get more minutes.

“If I do not receive more minutes then I will have to make a decision.”

The question comes after a summer transfer window in which several clubs reportedly showed interest in the midfielder, most notably Manchester City who are reportedly willing to pay the midfielder’s 100 million-EUR buyout clause.

Tottenham reportedly asked Barcelona for a year-long loan for Puig however the Spanish club are said to have declined the offer.

Puig, who made two appearances for the first team in La Liga last season, said “I am not training as much with the first-team squad this season” assuring that “last year I was practically part of the first-team squad, I trained with them and played with the B.”

Puig plays for Barcelona reserves team Barcelona B who are currently in the third-tier of Spanish football Segunda B after being relegated in the 2014-2015 season from the second-tier.

Puig said “the Segunda B is a category that is a stepping stone, not every reserve player wants to be here for too long. We all aspire to play in the top leagues.”

Puig signed a contract with Barcelona until 2021 in hopes of becoming a member of the first-team squad however local media report there are clubs trying to acquire him in the upcoming winter transfer window.
