A man filmed being dragged off by a gang of men when he was spotted trying to rape a cashier in a sex shop has died after being publically lynched.

The first piece of footage shows the man being dragged off by police, and he reportedly later died of his injuries, with other reports stating that he was already lifeless when he was taken away by the officers.

The second and third pieces of footage show the attempted rape, with the sex attacker dragging the woman by her hair and fighting with her as she desperately resists the brutal assault before several men come to her aid. Two men can be seen beating the attempted rapist before he was dragged off and lynched.

The incident took place in the administrative region of Riacho Fundo II, which is located in the Federal District in Brazil, which is home to the country’s capital Brasilia, on Thursday afternoon, on 11th March 2022.

The deceased alleged sex attacker was reportedly 34 years old and has not been named, while four people reportedly took part in the alleged lynching of the suspect.

It is reported that the 34-year-old man died of cardiac arrest as a result of the beating and lynching.

Local media reports that three of the four men who allegedly took part in the beating have given statements to the police.

The police said that they were called to the scene after being alerted to a ‘rape’ incident, stating that they found “a lot of people nervous and screaming that there was a rapist at the scene” upon their arrival.

The police said that the alleged rapist was probably taken from the scene to avoid further violence. The police stated that while driving the suspect away, they noticed that he was unconscious. They then alerted the fire department but the man was pronounced dead.

The police have opened an investigation for attempted rape and for murder, while the three suspects who gave statements to the police are reported as having said that they acted in “self defence”.

The investigation is ongoing. No names were reported. The female victims present condition is currently unclear, and it is unclear if she has received psychological support.
