This luxury green Lamborghini valued at nearly 250,000 GBP has been abandoned after the driver crashed it into an electrical substation.

The incident took place on 9th August in the city of Huelva in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia.

Police were called to the scene, but the supercar’s occupants had already fled by the time they arrived.

Officers found the substation partially destroyed.

Local newspaper NIUS said the incident caused a power cut in the area, but service resumed shortly afterwards.

The police later found two people in the Juan Ramon Jimenez Hospital who reportedly admitted to being in the Lamborghini Huracan at the time of the accident.

Both suffering from minor injuries, the pair told the police that they were lent the supercar by a pal.

They have both since been charged for reckless driving, according to NIUS.

Meanwhile, the Lamborghini owner, name and age not disclosed, has reportedly given a statement to the local authorities about the incident.

It is still unclear why the owner lent the supercar to the two men, and how they managed to lose control and crash it into the building.

NIUS said the vehicle was an eight-month-old Lamborghini Huracan valued at 264,700 EUR (237,688 GBP) with a 639 CV engine and a maximum speed of 325 kph (202 mph).
