A children’s nurse had been knocked head over heals after scooping her 57th lotto win with an astonishing USD 75,000 jackpot.
Winner Crystal Holbrook-Gazoni – from Glen Allen, Virginia State, USA – told lottery officials she had had a touch of luck when she had bought the ticket at the Kroger supermarket at 11895 West Broad Street.
A woman at the same supermarket counter rested a hand on her shoulder and said: “Honey, I hope you win big.”
The pediatric home healthcare nurse was then stunned when she arrived home with her Print ‘n Play Ultimate 7s Bingo ticket and realised that she secured USD 75,000 (GBP 63,158).
But – lotto officials revealed – Crystal is no stranger to winning streaks.
In 2021 she was handed a special cheque for more than USD 75,000 (GBP 63,158) for a series of 56 wins during a six-year winning streak.
She reportedly won the top prize with her odds standing at 1 in 480,000.
The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 2.99, claimed Virginia Lottery.
Lottery officials said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “All Virginia Lottery profits go to K-12 education in Virginia.
“Ms. Holbrook-Gazoni lives in Henrico County, which received more than USD 33.6 million [GBP 28.3 million] in Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year.
“In Fiscal Year 2022, the Lottery raised more than USD 779 million [GBP 656 million] for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.”
