LUCKY NUMBERS: USD 100,000 Lotto Winner Won’t Celebrate Until He Scoops Bigger Jackpot

A man who won USD 100,000 playing the lottery told officials that he won’t celebrate in case he jinxes his chances of winning “the big one”.

The lucky punter scooped the six-figure prize in the Michigan State Lottery but insists he is holding out for a bigger jackpot.

Newsflash obtained a statement from the Michigan State Lottery on Monday, 14th November, saying: “A Lapeer County man kept calm after winning a USD 100,000 (GBP 84,340) Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery.

Michael Raab, of Lapeer, in the US state of Michigan, reportedly “matched the four white balls and the Powerball – 03-06-11-17-22 PB:11 – in the Oct. 10 drawing to win a USD 50,000 [GBP 42,160] prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to USD 100,000. He bought his winning ticket at M&K Smoke Plus, located at 38381 Dodge Park in Sterling Heights.”

Raab told officials: “I play Powerball regularly and expect to win the jackpot someday.”

The lucky winner added: “When I saw I had won USD 100,000, I was excited but stayed calm because I want to save the celebration for the big one someday!”

The Michigan free said that Raab, 60, had recently visited their headquarters to claim his prize, adding that he plans to save his winnings.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on 8th November, the lottery officials said.

They added: “One ticket bought in California won the world record USD 2.04 billion [GBP 1.72 billion] jackpot. The current jackpot stands at USD 59 million [GBP 49.76 million].”
