This is the moment a mechanic cheats death after falling from the roof of an MOT centre and crashing to the ground in front of stunned workmates.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera at a vehicle inspection centre in the central Mexican capital Mexico City and shared on YouTube where it has been seen over 10,000 times.

In the clip, several mechanics are seen milling around the MOT centre before a man suddenly plummets from the high roof.

Before crashing to the ground, he appears to have something hooked on his leg which slightly breaks his fall.

As large pieces of roof debris fall around him, several colleagues rush over to help the injured worker.

According to local media, the unnamed man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Reports said that, despite the huge fall, the mechanic only suffered minor injuries and was lucky not to hit his head or upper body.

Netizen ‘Jose Mendieta’ said: “From the way he lands, you think he would end up with a broken leg or fractured hip.”

‘Daniel Martinez’ commented: “He was lucky because he seems to be hooked on something which breaks his fall. If that didn’t happen, who knows how injured the guy would have been.”
