Lucky Escape For Boy, 7, After Grabbing Hanging Power Cable On Utility Pole

This is the moment a boy grabs a high-voltage cable hanging from a utility pole while playing in the street and causes an explosion that he appears lucky to walk away from.

The seven-year-old boy, identified as H.A.I., was playing in the street with his friends in the neighbourhood of Pinar in the district of Esenyurt in the Turkish province of Istanbul on 17th September.

The young lad jumped and grabbed a hanging cable on the utility pole and caused a small blast and a shower of sparks.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera on an opposite building.

The CCTV footage shows the boy running across the road and spotting the low-hanging cable as he approaches the utility pole.

The youngster then jumps up and grabs it, causing an explosion and sending a shower of sparks onto the pavement.

Meanwhile, the boy runs off in one direction as his pals back away from the utility pole in the other direction.

According to news site DHA, the boy was unscathed in the incident.

It is unclear whether the power company responsible for maintaining the utility pole is taking any measures after the lucky escape, or whether the police are investigating the matter.
