Erica Pereira was admitted to a hospital in Rio Bonito in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro in early August.

Bob the dog accompanied its owner to hospital and somehow managed to enter her ward.

Hospital nurse Vanessa Aguiar posted photos of the dog waiting for Pereira with the message: “No one can complain about not having a friend or love when you have a dog!”

On 6th August, Pereira’s condition worsened and she was transferred to another hospital with Bob again by her side in the ambulance, according to the news site Globo.

Pereira was reportedly placed on a ventilator for 17 days at the Regional Hospital Darcy Vargas.

She was finally discharged from hospital last week, and Bob was of course waiting to welcome its owner, as seen in the first video.

The second clip shows Bob the dog wandering into the hospital ward in August.

Physiotherapist Jesus Vander Clevelares said: “She was a difficult patient to take off the ventilator, we tried three times.

“She was first discharged to the ward with low body strength. Now she is already able to stand and move around… and get ready to resume her everyday activities.”
