This is the moment a loving father of a daughter suddenly collapses at an airport after a capsule containing cocaine allegedly ruptured in his stomach.
Footage shows how 45-year-old Ecuadorian national Xavier Fernando Loor Zambrano stumbles and then falls to the ground at Istanbul Airport in Turkey.
The security camera footage shows how he hits his head on a metal pole as he falls backwards in the incident that took place on 24th August, according to the recording’s time stamp.
Blood is seen pouring from his head before paramedics come to his aid and take him away on a stretcher.
Despite the medics’ best efforts, he was unable to be saved and passed away in agony before his body was taken for a post-mortem.
According to local media, capsules containing a total of 400 grammes (14.1 oz) of cocaine were found in his stomach.
He is believed to have been transporting drugs from the Spanish capital, Madrid, to his native Ecuador.
He was transiting in Istanbul when he fell ill, apparently when two of the capsules containing cocaine that he was carrying in his stomach ruptured.
Previous CCTV footage had shown him losing consciousness and vomiting blood in a corridor.
According to his social media profile, he was father to a daughter. His bio reads: “Thank you, Lord, for giving me the most beautiful thing I have, which is my daughter. I love you, my princess.”
