Lorry Trailer Ripped To Shreds By Medical Helicopter Rotors As Aircraft Prepares To Take Off From Motorway

This footage shows a lorry trailer being ripped to shreds by a medical helicopter’s rotors just as the aircraft was preparing to take off from a motorway with an injured person on board.

The incident took place on the Perito Moreno motorway, near the Parque Avellaneda tollbooths, which is located in the heart of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, when medics were assisting another lorry driver who was injured after becoming involved in a collision on Sunday morning (24th October).

The helicopter landed on the motorway to assist the driver of the other lorry who was involved in a traffic accident with a third lorry, according to local media outlet Infobae.

The media outlet reports that the driver required medical assistance after he became trapped in the cabin in his lorry, with local firefighters eventually managing to successfully extract him from the wreckage.

The medical helicopter was dispatched and it landed on the motorway, ready to transfer the injured driver, who has not been named, to a hospital.

But just as the helicopter was preparing to take off with the injured driver on board, the lorry can be seen driving past with its trailer in tow, but the driver appears to cut it a little bit too close for comfort.

As the lorry and its trailer drive past, the rotors from the helicopter catch on the side of the lorry and rip it to shreds as the footage ends.

Infobae reports that parts of the rotor blades were damaged and flew off, with the injured driver eventually being transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The media outlet cites police sources as stating that there were no serious injuries as a result of the second incident.
