This is the moment a clueless lorry driver pushes a Citroen sideways through a crossroads for over 300 feet after failing to notice the car in his blind spot.

The freak accident happened in the city of Yiwu in East China’s Zhejiang Province after the saloon car apparently tried to turn across the heavy goods vehicle.

A traffic camera at the junction between Jichang Road and Jingju Road shows the lorry driver, surnamed Wang, failing to notice the Citroen in his blind spot and ploughing on through the crossroads.

He amazingly drives more than 100 metres (328 feet) while pushing the black saloon car sideways like a bulldozer before finally stopping on a zebra crossing.

Wang told police he finally stopped and got out to check, discovering to his shock the car in front of his tractor, because he thought he was having brake troubles.

The authorities said the Citroen owner was fortunately not injured.

However, the accident has caused roughly 10,000 RMB (1,140 GBP) in damage.

The police are still investigating the case and have yet to announce whether Wang will be ordered to pay for the repairs in full.
