This is the moment a lorry is transported down a river at speed while being balanced on two planks suspended over the bow of two motorboats.

The lorry was reportedly being taken to the Guzman Putumayo Port in south-western Colombia and its licence plates were registered in the nearby department of Narino.

In the footage, a lorry is seen resting on two planks stretched across the bow of two motorboats as they speed along the river.

The camera then pans to the boat operators and one of them smiles and gives the ‘thumbs up’.

The video was posted on Facebook by netizen ‘Andres Guzman’ where it has been viewed over 221,000 times.

Facebook user ‘Wilian Cruz Rativa’ said: “You get what you pay for. I would never risk my vehicle for something like that.”

Netizen ‘Ricardo Cienfuegos’ commented: “Amazing feat of engineering!”

‘Visalgado’ said: “Those guys must know the river well. What kind of company would be willing to insure them for such practices?!”

According to local media, it is not uncommon to see similar methods being adopted for transportation and river crossings in various parts of Colombia.
