Locals Break Lockdown To Throw Peppa Pig Party In Spain

This is the moment Spanish residents break strict COVID-19 lockdown rules and stage a street party for kids featuring Peppa Pig.

The incident was filmed in the neighbourhood of Vista Alegre in the town of Beas de Segura in the province of Jaen in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, and the footage has been viewed over 40,000 times on Twitter.

In the footage, Peppa Pig and other loved children’s characters are seen on a platform fixed to the top of a van that is playing loud music.

Meanwhile, hordes of people are seen breaking lockdown rules as they gather outside to take part in the street party.

According to the local council, the police were called to the scene and officers broke up the event. No arrests have been reported.

The clip is reportedly being investigated by the local authorities who are considering taking legal action.

The local council said in a public statement: “We have spent weeks working and making a huge effort to protect our citizens from COVID-19 and we will make sure this situation does not happen again.”

As of 6th April, Spain has reported 131,646 cases of COVID-19 and 12,641 related deaths, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.

Meanwhile, 38,080 people have made full recoveries.
