Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca, age not reported, had been pronounced dead after an accident on the Chiclayo-Picsi road, in Lambayeque.

Her relatives had been carrying her coffin through the cemetery for burial when they noticed noises coming from inside the box.

They opened the coffin and found Rosa with her eyes open and obvious vital signs.

Cemetery caretaker Juan Segundo Cajo said: “[She] opened her eyes and was sweating. I immediately went to my office and called the police.”

She was taken – still inside her coffin – to the nearby Referential Hospital Ferrenafe, where medics confirmed she did indeed have vital signs, albeit very low ones.

They connected her up to a https://www.viagrageneric.org/ life-support machine and her condition did improve slightly. However, she passed away a few hours later.

Her relatives expressed outrage at the fact she had been declared dead in the first place and handed over for the funeral, which took place on Tuesday, 26th April.

An unnamed aunt said: “We want to know why my niece reacted yesterday, when we were taking her to be buried.

“We have the videos in which she pushes and touches the coffin.”

The family has speculated their relative was actually in a coma when she was declared dead the first time round.

The police are now working to ascertain whether staff at the Lambayeque Regional Hospital – where she was first treated – disconnected her, pronounced her dead and sent her to the morgue without proper review.

Rosa’s brother-in-law died from the serious injuries he sustained in the same road accident.
