A suspected drink-driver who fell asleep at the wheel and caused a collision that left five pedestrians hospitalised has been fined just 168 GBP.
The suspect, surnamed Wu, admitted to having taken part in a night of heavy drinking hours before the accident, according to police.
Footage from the city of Bozhou in China’s eastern Anhui Province shows Wu’s SUV suddenly veering off-road and slamming into the first of his victims, who is sent flying.

The car then continues at speed and slams into a group of four men, all of whom were oblivious to the impending danger.
In the video, all four are hit by the car at the same time; they are bowled over and hit the ground at the same time during the crash on 22nd January.
Authorities say Wu tested positive for drink-driving and revealed he had fallen asleep behind the wheel at the moment of the collision.
According to reports, all five victims are still receiving treatment in hospital.
One suffered a broken leg.
The police say Wu was given 12 demerit points, will serve a six-month driving ban, and also received a fine of 1,500 RMB (168 GBP).
