This is the German gym chain that is celebrating opening its 100th location by handing out lifetime free memberships – but only to those bold enough to have the matching QR code tattoos.

A total of 100 lifelong, free memberships are being handed out by Fit+, but only to people happy with having their own customised QR code tattooed on their skin. The code is what will be used to access the gyms.

On their homepage, Fit+ says: “We believe that those who are really motivated will wear their admission ticket as a souvenir on their skin.”

According to German newspaper Tag24, the winners are free to choose where to have their QR code tattooed. They can have it on their bums, on their arms, anywhere on their body, just as long as they provide Fit+ with a photograph of it and an invoice from a tattoo artist.

Tag24 say that the winners sporting the QR tattoos will be saving 30 EUR (27 GBP) a month, which, over the course of a lifetime, is a lot of money.

According to Swiss newspaper 20 Minutes, Fit+ already has 25,000 members in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

20 Minutes asked Fit+ if temporary tattoos were acceptable, to which Fit+ said that they would take everyone on good faith until proven otherwise.
