This is the moment when two reckless lads injure themselves – one seriously – after making a terrifying, 100-foot jump into a water-filled ravine.
Footage shows the moment the young men hit the water hard in the area of Canteras de Deuco – located in Angol, Chile – on 4th January.
Both men only narrowly missed hitting the sloped rock face on their descent.
But they were then injured on hitting the water following their nearly 30-metre (98-foot) fall, local media reported.
Injuries sustained by one of the two men – who was conscious when rescued by the Fire Department – were described as “serious”.
His name was withheld in reports, but he is said to be 22 years old and from Santiago de Chile.
His pal’s identity was also unreported.
Local tour guide Ivan Ibasque told Chilean media: “At that height, the water acts like a solid, and it’s from that height that they hit the water. It’s like falling onto rocks.”
Both young men were taken to hospital in Angol. Their current conditions are unclear.
Local media reported that people have lost their lives in previous botched jumps from the same cliff.
