This is the last photo of a 21-year-old tourist who tripped on the street just hours after it was taken and fell under a bus, killing him on the scene.
The incident took place in the coastal resort city of Mar del Plata in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires at around 6.30am on 24th January.
Pedro Bertelli, who came from the north-western Argentine province of Tucuman and was visiting the coast with four friends, reportedly fell and slipped under a bus while walking home after a night out.
According to witnesses, Bertelli was walking along Patricio Peralta Ramos Avenue after leaving a nightclub with his pals and, upon reaching the corner of Avellaneda Street, lost his balance and fell just when the bus was passing.
The news site M1 said the bus driver did not have enough time to take evasive action, and the 21-year-old man was killed on the spot.
Hours earlier, Bertelli had posted a photo of himself standing by a roadside in Mar del Plata for his 5,000 Instagram followers.
Along with other photos of Bertelli and his pals enjoying their time in the coastal city, he said he was enjoying “a relaxing weekend with my people”.
Council security official Gustavo Jara said: “The victim crossed the street where the traffic meets and, according to the testimony of the boys in the group with him, he slipped on the ground and fell right under a bus.
“It happened suddenly, the bus (driver) could not slow down and ran over him.”
“It took place a few metres from a traffic control and officers promptly attended the incident.”
The bus driver was breathalysed at the scene and tested negative for alcohol.
