This is the moment a young Lada driver aged just 20 smashes into the back of a parked lorry at such high speed that his vehicle disappears completely under the HGV.
The unnamed victim, from the town of Znamensk in the district of Akhtubinsky in the south-western Russian region of Astrakhan Oblast, appears to have not seen the parked lorry after hitting at speed.
The incident in which the driver waas killed was filmed on the Volgograd-Astrakhan main road and the footage was posted on YouTube.
In the clip, a cat crosses the road with the parked lorry is visible in the background.
Suddenly, the white Lada that appears to be speeding comes into view and slams into the back of the lorry, disappearing underneath it.
As the cat stops in its tracks and looks over at the accident scene, the crushed Lada is almost entirely wedged underneath the heavy goods vehicle.
The local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the crash.
Netizen ‘Maxim Vepr’ said: “Cruel death. I feel sorry for the guy. Maybe he was rushing or somehow got distracted?”
