These two kindhearted Italian police officers cooked ravioli for a sick 87-year-old woman who was home alone and called the cops saying she was too tired to make dinner.

The heartwarming incident took place in the Coverciano neighbourhood of the city of Florence in the northern Italian region of Tuscany.

Local media report the 87-year-old woman was home alone because her son was not in town and she was stuck in bed with an unspecified illness.

She decided to call the police, saying: “Help me, I am alone, I am hungry and I cannot cook.”

The local police sent officers Antonio and Giuseppe who knocked on the door to no answer before a neighbour eventually let them in.

The officers then offered to help the woman, going to the kitchen and cooking her an Italian classic: ravioli with tomato sauce.

The woman told the cops that her carer had not turned up as expected when her son was leaving but she told him not to worry as she thought she could look after herself.

However, in the evening she struggled to get out of bed and her arm was hurting. Stopping her from being able to cook.

The officers reportedly sat with her and gave her company as she enjoyed her dinner.

The local police shared the story on social media with the caption: “For us, this is also being present.”
