Killer Who Stole Baby Contacted Numerous Pregnant Women Online Looking For A Victim

The suspected killer of a pregnant woman who cut her open in order to steal her baby before leaving her for dead had apparently contacted several pregnant women online to try and make friends before finally finding her victim.

Eight months pregnant Pamella Ferreira Andrade Martins, 21, who had apparently felt sorry for her suspected killer and died as a result of her kindness after her baby was cut out of her womb at her home in the Brazilian municipality of Macae on 17th March.

The alleged killer, who she had only recently met online, took the baby, who by then was dead, to a local A&E, claiming she had had a home birth. She was found not to have been pregnant and was admitted to hospital under arrest.

The victim’s family has now revealed that Pamella had met the suspect online a few months ago and added that tragically, they had learned from police that she had tried to approach several other pregnant women, although in her early attempts without success at forming a friendship.

The victim’s mother has said that it was the suspect who reached out to her daughter online and the two started meeting up.

She told local media: “We found out that she had already made contact with other girls looking for a target. Just that the others did not fall for it.

“My daughter, out of kindness, thinking she was going to have a new friendship, believed in her, and she paid the price for her kindness.”

On the day of the crime, the victim’s sister, Natalia Ferreira, arrived home and went to look for Pamella, but she could not find her. She then saw a bloodstain in the hall leading to the bathroom.

She found Pamella dead on the bathroom floor.

Natalia told local media: “She was dragged from the bedroom to the bathroom. The door to the hall was locked, we needed to break it down, but the bathroom door was open.

“I started to scream, my dad came. Then they called the police, then the ambulance arrived.”

The police told local media that they found a blood-soaked taxi licence and a key in the victim’s purse. The key was later found to open the padlock on the front gate of the victim’s home.

The police also revealed that during questioning the suspect said she had “ordered” the baby.

Officers are currently investigating whether she cut open the victim’s womb herself or if she ordered someone else to do it and snatch the baby for her.

However, according to the police, there is evidence that the suspect was at the victim’s home on the day of the crime.

The investigation continues, and the suspect’s identity remains anonymous for the time being.
