This is the moment a hardworking 10-year-old uses the display models in a Samsung shop to do his homework because he does not have a tablet at home – and netizens have now donated two devices to him.

Youngster Guilherme Santiago was recorded doing his homework in a Samsung shop in a shopping centre in the city of Recife in the northeastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco.

In the video, the 10-year-old can be seen standing in the Samsung shop and is using a display tablet to do his homework.

The person recording the boy said “does not have a tablet or computer at home to study” so he “comes here” to study.

Guilherme’s sister Aylla Martins told reporters: “He likes to study. He said that he had been two or three times to the shopping centre to do his work.”

She said that he had been doing his work on a mobile phone when “the guy from the shop called out to him to go and work on the tablet. In the week, he has no way to do it at home, so when he has to do some research he said that he goes there.”

After the video was posted and widely shared online, two tablets were reportedly donated to the youngster. He thanked those who made the donations, saying: “Thank you so much for donating or trying to donate. I love you.”

The youngster studies at the Abilio Gomes school, which has around 287 students but there are only 12 tablets that can be used by pupils. The Internet connection only works on the tablets when the school authorities allow it, in order to prevent them being misused.

Reports state the Samsung are looking to contact the boy to help out in the case.
