Key Ukrainian Negotiator In Talks With Russians Taunts With Video Of Troops Celebrating Victory With A Dance

A key diplomat involved in Ukrainian and Russian talks has taunted rivals by sharing the celebratory dance of two Ukrainian soldiers reportedly after yet another victory against advancing Russian troops.

Anton Gerashchenko is a key adviser to the Minister of the Interior Affairs of Ukraine and has been involved in talks with Russians, only recently announcing that they had concluded when the Russians insisted they were still ongoing.

It was not revealed where the footage took place or when it was filmed, because it is illegal to share details of ongoing or current military operations, with severe penalties for those who do so.

But that did not stop him from sharing the footage showing the two Ukrainian soldiers celebrating the apparent victory, one of them holding an anti-tank grenade launcher (NRAW) on his shoulders.

It attracted widespread comments including from netizens saying that the Ukrainian soldiers not only shoot well, they also dance well.

Gerashchenko is a tough-talking former member of the Ukrainian parliament responsible for briefing journalists. He reportedly survived an assassination attempt targeting Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy back in September 2021 when security services arrested the assassins as they were about to plant an explosive device that targeted him.

The assassins reportedly turned out to be former convicts in the Russian occupied Crimea who had been released on an agreement to stage an attempt on his life. The Ukrainians also recently reported having thwarted an assassination plot set up by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov to murder the Ukrainian president.

He did not stand for election and instead joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs as the main adviser to the Minister.

The video follows on from a similar video shot before the hostilities started, on 3rd February, of another Ukrainian soldier dancing in the snow.

In the video, reportedly shared on Telegram and Twitter, the soldier can be seen bobbing up and down and performing disco moves like punching the air and spinning on the snow.

The dance was compared to a variation of the “Saturday Night Fever” classic move from the 1977 film, with a few variations based on the fact that he is carrying an AK-47.

He is holding what appears to be an AK-47 rifle as he shakes his hips and kicks his feet out.

He is wearing camouflage gear and was dancing to Whitney Houston’s 1993 “Queen of the Night” smash hit in the original version. The version in this news item features royalty free audio to allow it to be shared on social media.
