A policewoman from Kenya has gone on the run after she supposedly sought out and murdered two of her ex-boyfriends – and threatened to kill four others.

The police are looking for corporal Caroline Kangogo, 34, from the city of Nakuru in Kenya who has been on the run after she allegedly killed two people who were former lovers.

Authorities said that Kangogo threatened four other men via text messages, who are suspected to be her former or current lovers, including her estranged husband.

According to local media, the 34-year-old woman’s first victim was police constable and current boyfriend John Ogweno, who she allegedly shot at the police headquarters in the city of Nakuru on 4th July.

John’s wife Juliet Ogweno later reported that Kangogo used to call her frequently and had even requested to meet their children before she killed him, but she had never assumed there was a romantic connection between the two.

After she killed the colleague, Kangogo allegedly headed towards a different target the next day – a man named Peter Ndwiga Njiru who was aged 32, and was reportedly an ex-boyfriend “who was also even known in Nakuru”, according to acquaintances.

Kangogo who is reportedly a divorcee and mother of two, lured the 32-year-old man to a hotel room and shot him with Ogweno’s Ceska pistol, which she took with her and loaded it with 15 rounds of ammunition on 5th July.

The man died of excessive brain bleeding after he was shot in the head in the town of Juja located in the Kiambu County in Kenya about 200 kilometres (124 miles) away from where Ogweno was murdered.

CCTV footage captured the policewoman walking proudly out of the hotel and vanishing in an unknown direction after the alleged murder.

Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) issued a warning following the second murder and alerted men of the woman’s actions.

The DCI statement said: “Detectives are looking for a female Police Officer who has gone berserk and is on a killing spree. Corporal Caroline Kangogo, the suspect behind the killing of Police Constable John Ogweno, in Nakuru, has shot dead yet another man in cold blood.

“The suspect who is armed and dangerous has been on the run since early yesterday morning after she killed constable John Ogweno, who was based in Nakuru.

“We are cautioning members of the public, especially men, to be on the lookout for the rogue officer, who is luring men to her trap before executing them in cold blood. Let nobody trust her since she is armed and dangerous.”

The military and the police joined forces to track down and arrest the escapee, and in a tragic turn of events, another woman identified as Phanice Chemutai Juma was shot after someone mistook her for Kangogo.

Trans Nzoia County Police Commander Fredrick Ochieng’ said the shooter was named as Ken Muyundo who had been frequently getting calls from a woman he met some time previously to meet, and convinced it was the policewoman, he arranged to meet her and shot her on the lower left abdomen leaving her with injuries.
